WR ISSUE 7: COLORS AND MOODS

Today's Photo -
Fireflag flowers in Wakodahatchee Wetlands, food for Purple Gallinule birds. The gallinules walk out on the stems to the very ends to eat these flowers. You can find photos of Purple Gallinules on www.eteletours.com/gallinule.html.

I love the grace and delicacy of these flowers and am often drawn to photographing them simply for the beauty I see. This particular photo, with the muted green and yellow-pink-orangish background, evokes a feeling of peace for me.

Also, as I continue to gaze at the photo, I get the feeling of an air of expectancy, especially in the bud on the lower right. Perhaps, it's simply that I know they have yet to open.

Self-Reflecting Queries -

What colors set up a peaceful feeling for you? Have you ever noticed whether you are drawn to the more muted colors as above, or is it the more vibrant colors that attract you?

Have you ever noticed a difference in your moods, dependent on the colors you are wearing and/or the colors that abound in the spaces you are in?

I invite you to pay attention to colors and tones in your clothes and environments in the next week to check for your own personal responses. You might make note of what you find, so that you may use the information to empower future choices.

Feedback and shares are always welcome, either on the Picture to Ponder WR Issues Blog, or e-mail me directly.
